- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1/4 cup melted butter or vegetable oil
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a donut pan.
- Mix dry ingredients in a large bowl: flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Combine wet ingredients: Whisk together buttermilk, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract in a separate bowl.
- Combine the mixtures: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet, stirring until just combined.
- Pipe the batter into the prepared donut pan, filling each cavity about 3/4 full.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Cool for 5 minutes in the pan, then transfer to a wire rack.
