  • Total Time: 5 minutes (including chilling time)

Ingredients

  • Oreo Cookies: One standard package of Oreo cookies (about 36 cookies) provides the base and flavor.
  • Cream Cheese: One 8-ounce block of cream cheese, softened to room temperature.
  • Chocolate for Coating: Choose white, dark, or milk chocolate for dipping the Oreo Balls. You can use melting wafers or chocolate chips.

Instructions

Step 1: Crush the Oreos

Place the Oreo cookies in a food processor and blend until they turn into fine crumbs. You may also crush them in a sealed plastic bag with a rolling pin if you don’t have a food processor.

Step 2: Mix with Cream Cheese

Add the softened cream cheese to the Oreo crumbs and mix thoroughly until it forms a smooth, dough-like consistency.

Step 3: Shape into Balls

Using a small scoop or tablespoon, take portions of the Oreo mixture and roll them into balls about 1 inch in diameter. Place the rolled balls onto a parchment-lined baking sheet.

Step 4: Chill the Balls

Transfer the baking sheet to the refrigerator and chill the Oreo balls for at least 30 minutes. This helps them firm up and makes them easier to dip in chocolate.

Step 5: Melt the Chocolate

Melt your choice of chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl, heating in 20-second increments, and stirring in between until smooth. You can also use a double boiler if you prefer stovetop melting.

Step 6: Dip the Oreo Balls

Remove the Oreo balls from the refrigerator and dip each one into the melted chocolate, ensuring it’s fully coated. Use a fork to lift the ball out of the chocolate, letting the excess drip off.

Step 7: Let the Chocolate Set

Place the chocolate-covered Oreo Balls back onto the parchment-lined sheet. If desired, sprinkle with crushed Oreos, sprinkles, or drizzle with a contrasting chocolate color. Let them set at room temperature or refrigerate until firm.
