Ingredients
- 2 pounds fresh peaches, peeled, pitted, and chopped 🍑
- 1 cup white sugar 🍬
- 1 pint half-and-half cream 🥛
- 1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk 🥛
- 1 (12 oz) can evaporated milk 🥛
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 🍦
- 2 cups whole milk (or as needed) 🥛
Instructions
1️⃣ Prepare the Peaches:
- Peel and Chop: Begin by peeling, pitting, and chopping the peaches into small pieces.
- Mix with Sugar: Combine the diced peaches with 1 cup of sugar in a medium-sized bowl. Stir well to coat the peaches evenly.
- Let It Rest: Allow the mixture to sit for 10–15 minutes to let the peaches release their natural juices.
2️⃣ Mix the Base:
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the half-and-half cream, sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, and vanilla extract.
- Stir in the peach and sugar mixture, ensuring all ingredients are well blended.
3️⃣ Prepare the Ice Cream Freezer:
- Pour the prepared peach mixture into your ice cream maker’s freezer container.
- Add whole milk as needed to reach the fill line (about 2 cups, depending on your ice cream maker’s capacity).
4️⃣ Churn the Ice Cream:
- Assemble the ice cream maker according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
- Churn the mixture for 25–30 minutes or until the ice cream reaches a soft-serve consistency.
5️⃣ Freeze to Firm Up:
- For a firmer texture, transfer the churned ice cream to a freezer-safe container.
- Cover the container tightly and freeze for at least 4 hours or until fully set.
6️⃣ Serve and Enjoy:
- Scoop the ice cream into bowls or cones.
- Garnish with fresh peach slices for an extra burst of flavor and a beautiful presentation.
Notes
- Choose Ripe Peaches: For the best flavor, use peaches that are ripe, juicy, and aromatic.
- Chill Ingredients: Keep all dairy ingredients cold before mixing to speed up the churning process.
- Pre-Chill the Ice Cream Maker: If possible, pre-chill the ice cream maker’s bowl in the freezer overnight for optimal results.
- Texture Boost: For added texture, reserve some of the diced peaches and stir them in after churning but before freezing.
